Due to the Assembly rehearsal in the Auditorium today, Ms. Speed’s Period 3, Block A, and Period 5, Block F, classes will meet in Room 363. Mr. Thompson’s Period 7, Block E class will meet in Room 347.

A message from the Tech Deck: If you forgot to return your School Issued iPad yesterday, Please bring it to the Tech Deck this morning.

Attention 6th and 7th grade Advisory teachers: please do not distribute yearbooks until Advisory today. 8th grade: You will receive yours after the morning rehearsal. Please bring a pen to the rehearsal if you are planning to have others sign it.

Do you like legos? Robotics? Are you interested in learning more about joining the Wellesley Middle School First Lego League Robotics Team? If you are a current 6th or 7th grade student please check out our table outside the cafeteria today to learn more about the team and how to join. If you are not available at lunch but you are interested please ask your science teacher, MakerSpace teacher, Mr. Foley or Ms. Morton for the informational flyer.

Are you curious about what people in our WMS community will be celebrating tomorrow? Tomorrow is the celebration of Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a celebration of the end of legal slavery in the U.S. It is now a state and federal holiday in the United States. Juneteenth recognizes the day one of the last communities holding on to enslaved people of African descent in the United States received word that they had been “freed”. In many cities, people participate by holding parades, dances, races, and having barbecues, while educating participants about the history and legacy of slavery and emancipation in the U.S. We wish all people at WMS celebrating this holiday “Happy Juneteenth.”

Thank you to all who made our 7th grade Cornhole tournament a success! Congratulations to the Champions, Grade 8 teachers, Mr. Chute and Mr. Crowe and our runners up Finn Barrett and Oliver Yiek. Great job to all who participated and contributed to the fun and school spirit. Congrats for giving it your all!

If you have an EpiPen or Inhaler in the WMS nurse’s office, please stop by the nurse’s office today to pick it up and bring it home for the summer.

There are still 49 books checked out from the library. Please bring your books back as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to check out the lost & found items outside the Main Office. Inside the Main Office we have some earbuds, eyeglasses and jewelry. Please stop by if you are missing any personal items, whether it was last week or last month, we just might have it.

If you have an EpiPen or Inhaler in the WMS nurse’s office, please stop by the nurse’s office today or tomorrow to pick it up and bring it home for the summer.

There are still 56 books checked out from the library. Please bring your books back as soon as possible.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade athletes interested in playing football in the fall: there will be an informational meeting today right after school in the cafeteria with Coach Davis from the High School.

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.

Congratulations to the 6th and 7th grade choirs on their excellent performance last night. It was a real treat to see so many of you shine on our stage.

8th graders, we are looking forward to seeing you at the 8th grade dance tonight from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. There will be a DJ, photo booth, giveaways and snacks! This dance is open to 8th grade only, and only 8th grade students who attend Wellesley Middle School may attend.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade athletes interested in playing football in the fall: there will be an informational meeting on Monday, June 16th right after school in the cafeteria with Coach Davis from the High School. Please note the date change.

This weekend is the perfect time for 8th graders and for students who are not returning to WMS to finish backing up their iPads. Remember that your devices will be wiped during Period 7 on Tuesday, June 17th. Stop by the Tech Deck for support.

The 6th and 7th Grade Chorus concert is tomorrow night in the WMS Auditorium. Come see over 200 singers perform in the grand finale with percussion accompaniment by Olivia Rasmussen and Chase Delgado. There will be solos by James Tepichin, Gus Hocherman, Lorelei Kuan, Ollie Griffith, Kaitlin Kiernan and more! The concert is at 7:00 pm and it’s free!

Attention all 8th graders and students who are not returning to WMS: It’s time to back up your iPad! Your device will be wiped during Period 7 on Tuesday, June 17th. Stop by the Tech Deck if you need any support.

Attention 6th and 7th Grade Chorus: your after school rehearsal is in the Auditorium directly after school today. This rehearsal is for the 6th and 7th grade singers only, but we would love for the WMS school community to attend our concert on Thursday night! The arranging projects this term are Stargazing by Myles Smith and Dancing Queen by ABBA. Come see solos by Adalyn Chen, Kaden Oxley, Sunny Fu, Ashina Broad and more! The concert is at 7:00 pm and it’s free!

Attention Grade 8 students: Today is the last day to register for the June 10th Scavenger Hunt and it must be online, and to turn in your consent forms to your Advisors for ��ֱ�� Service Day. Students and staff, please remember to wear your red shirts tomorrow. Any questions, please stop by the Main Office.

This is a reminder that we are opening live auditions for our Grade 8 Completion Assembly this year. We will be holding auditions this Wednesday, June 11th from 2:40 – 3:15 pm in the Auditorium for interested 8th grade students. If you have already submitted a video, we ask that you sign up for a live audition. All others, please sign up in the Main Office for an audition slot. If you are interested, but you have concerns and/or conflicts with the date, please let us know. Come prepared to perform your song, artistic performance, and/or musical instrument. If you have questions, see Ms. Connors, Mr. Adams, or the Main Office.

The library will be closed to all students during Period 6, Block E today and will not reopen until after school.

Period 7, Block F study hall will be in the cafeteria.

We have decided to open live auditions for our Grade 8 Completion Assembly this year. We will be holding auditions next Wednesday, June 11th from 2:40 – 3:15 pm in the Auditorium for interested 8th grade students. All books were due back to the library yesterday and there are still 165 books at large! The students in all three grades with the closest guesses were Mabel Woodworth, Owen Wu, and Jason Keiper! Mabel’s guess was only 3 books off! The three winners can swing by the library during Advisory or Lunch and get your prize! Everyone else – please bring your books back!
